Comparison Blog

Before reading, Brothers, Bad Blood and the Blackwater Tangle and Battle of the Beds: Suave S.U.V.'s With Pickup Lines, I learned in class about the block method of writing and the flip flop method of writing. In using the block method you first present all the information on the first topic and then present all the information on the second topic. And in the flip flop method you compare and contrast two topics back in forth.
The two articles were written in two different styles of writing. In the , "Battle of the Beds: Suave S.U.V.'s With Pickup Lines," two things, the Ford Explorer Sport Trac and the Chevrolet Avalanche , were being compared. Over all, the Sport Trac which was designed by a, Chelsia Lau, has a real macho look. "I wanted to pull up to a stoplight in a cloud of dust and yell, “Whoa!!!” But also the Chevrolet Avalanche is no longer the Ugly Betty of the bunch.
In the " Brothers, Bad Blood and Blackwater Tangle," article nothing was being compared until almost the end of the article. In the beginning of the essay it talks about each brothers accomplishments and all they have achieved over the years. It then later goes on to explain how each brother had different parts in the scandal and how they both were accused of different things that went on in the scandal.

By reading both these articles it helped me to get a better understanding on what to do and what not to do in writing a comparison essay.

Cell Phone Blockers!

A new technology has come to the United States, it is called cell phone blockers. This is used to cut off people mid conversaton while taking on their cell phone. I think that it is both a good thing and a bad thing. There is a time and place for that to take place . If someone is having an emergemcy and you need to get to a certain place and you get cut off mid way in the converstaion while the person is telling you where they are located then that could cause a very serious result. But it is a good thing on the other hand becasue if you are out to dinner you dont want to hear people talking on the phone about the latest news in their life. It is very rude and annoying. You are out trying to enjoy a peacful dinner and you dont wanna hear about other peoples life. After looking at many differtn websiting the one that caught my eye the most was http://www.nytimes.com/2007/11/04/technology/04jammer.html?_r=3&pagewanted=1&oref=slogin
You should check it out because it is very informtive.

Expressing Yourself!!!!

Blogs are a very personal thing. It is something that you create yourself to communcate with others and show them your own personal style. You can pick what ever background and font you want so that you can put your own personal touch on it. By looking and reading other peoples blogs, it helps you to see what other people are thinking or what they are going though and it can sometimes help you if you are thinking or going though the same thing as that person. It is also very interestring to see how others make there blog and what they write about. It can also help you to get examples from others on what or what not to do in writting certain types of essays. After looking at several different blogs it showed me that theere are many differnt ways to you can express yourself using a blog. For example some teenagers use blogs to post pictures so that they can share them with their friends and comment on each others as a way of fun.
